This past weekend I ran 74.4 miles up and down the same set of stairs (the Rocky steps) in 24 hours while gaining over 13,000 feet of elevation all without any sleep (#advil #monsters).

The reason – to support local families (through the Legacy of Hope) who are facing the hunger and homelessness because of cancer. No matter how much it hurt out there on the steps, I couldn’t help but feel obligated in those moments to continue doing hard things for those who don’t have a choice. The experience was epic and I pushed the limits of what I thought was possible alongside of some incredible humans who helped keep me going when things got hard. I have a lot of reflecting still to do but would love to leave you with this simple thought for now…















There are so many people who don’t have the chance to do hard things because they are no longer here to experience this life. If you’re having a tough week, take a deep breath and remember that time is precious and life is a gift. The option to choose our hard is an immense privilege and the truth is that there is no strength without struggle.
