It’s been one year since I joined Bare Performance Nutrition (BPN) as an ambassador and I’m writing this blog as I prepare for a flight down to Austin, Texas to meet the team. I couldn’t be more grateful for everything that’s happened in the past year and looking back, I can express with full confidence that becoming part of the BPN community has been one of the biggest blessings that I never saw coming. This blog is about everything I’ve learned, gained and given through BPN since last fall and I hope you’ll stick around. If you’d like to read about my thoughts from last fall, you can do so here.

What I’ve Learned
There are countless lessons that I’ve learned through BPN over the past year but the biggest one is the value that lies in building community. The group of people who are bought into the BPN mission (at all levels) are eclectic yet connected; different but the same. Whether it’s on social media, over zoom, in person or anywhere else, interacting with other people within the BPN community has consistently left me feeling inspired, energized and encouraged. I’ve come to realize that while people can go fast alone, people can go further together. Furthermore, through Nick’s example, I’ve recognized that great leadership starts with honest ownership; walking the walk and living the message (go one more). It’s been incredible to watch BPN grow and through the process I’ve come to understand that while the BPN products are incredible, people love to support the people behind the products and that who we support says a lot about who we are and what we value.
What I’ve Gained
When I first became an ambassador, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I soon realized that BPN cared about me and was investing in me. Over the past year, I’ve gained a group of close friends in addition to numerous deep and meaningful conversations. I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about what goes into building a successful company and I’ve gained a behind the scenes look at what goes into creating big impact. In addition to those things, I’ve had many opportunities to reflect on who I am and what I stand for – this culminated in one of the coolest opportunities I’ve ever had… to shoot a mini-documentary with the BPN creative team right here in Philadelphia about my story (it’s not out yet). More than anything else, I’ve gained a deep appreciation and respect for everyone in this world who is striving for better and lifting others up along the way. The last, and to be honest least important, thing that I’ve gained is a chance to supplement my income through this ambassadorship. Shameless plug: orders placed using code DRJOE saves you 10% and helps me.
What I’ve Given
With all of the above, I’ve been blessed with the ability to connect with some amazing people within the BPN community. Through the past year, I’ve made an effort to use my skills, energy and effort to make other’s better in what they do and increased exposure on social media has allowed me to coach more people than ever before. I’ve enjoyed helping others through coaching so much that I left my full time job a few months back to do more of it! Some of my favorite clients have been those who found me through BPN because they often share a high level of commitment, work ethic and trust in the process (and me). I’m striving to give more of myself outside of coaching by adding as much value as I can with thoughtful, intentional, inspiring and encouraging social media content. If you’d like to learn more about coaching or see the content I put out on social media you can do so by clicking on those linked words. In the years to come, I hope to continue connecting with the BPN community and lifting others up in all that I do.

There’s so much more that could be written about how BPN has helped shape who I am. However, to keep things concise I’ll end things with this: there are just some things that you know you want need to be a part of and for me, BPN is one of those things. I’m full of gratitude and excitement as I head down to Texas and with that being said, let me wrap things up with the same quote from last year’s blog…
“The distance between those who achieve their goals consistently and those who spend their lives merely following has everything to do with one’s ability to go the extra mile.”
