What If It’s Just Art
I have the privilege of having dozens of deep, intentional conversations each week – through coaching, podcasting and other general connections. Through these ongoing dialogues I’ve come to believe that none of us ever “figure it out.” We are all doing our best to navigate this complex, confusing and challenging world one new moment at a time. While it’s important to have a sense of direction and purpose, I can’t help but shake the idea that the specifics don’t matter. In other words, maybe it doesn’t matter if we are a doctor or a barista – we can still all leave a unique impact on this world through how we live – the what is just a vehicle. What if our life is like a piece of art – each mistake, movement and moment just an imperfect brushstroke on the canvas of our time? In the end, what if that piece of art gets hung up on the wall of time left to impact everyone who is yet to come? What if life is not about getting “somewhere” but creating “something” of meaning?
